Tom had no health insurance, and was attending a training class in the hopes of making himself more marketable. He worked when he found work, but it was not steady, reliable work with benefits. Tom had no health insurance, and with no money in reserve, could not pay for expensive treatment. He left the hospital without getting the treatment that would have saved his life. Within weeks, Tom experienced another heart attack, but he did not survive. He left behind a young daughter, brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews and friends.
