My Mother healthy and full of life all of a sudden got sick for weeks she said it was a scatica nerve in her back then it got so bad we had to take her to E.R. She only had medicare and could not afford to go to a Dr. because of the co-pay.(She only drew about 700 a month)Any way she was diginosed with lung cancer it had spread to her liver bones and blood.For 7 weeks I cared for her because the Dr.s didnt have time to because they knew there would be unpaid bills.She suffered so much starving because she could not eat the meds was 300.00 for 1 bottle and we could not afford it all her meds were just overwhelming the cost.She dehydrated because she could not hold any liquid down she went from about 140 pounds to about 80 pounds in front of her family.On May 20,2003 I was holding her in my arms as she took her last breath. Now I have no health care I am 52 years old been homebound for 4 years applied for disabilty a year ago and still have no worker assigned to my case I have 2 minors at home and they to will watch their Mother die.I was told 4 days ago by a Dr. my life expectancy was very short.Because I have no health care I can not afford the meds for my heart and lungs and cant afford to go to a Dr. as I need to
