Megan was one of the most active and beloved members of the Portland, Oregon, film and entertainment industry. She was a casting director, and had one of the biggest hearts of anyone I ever met. - - She did not have health insurance, and so ignored pain in her abdomen until it became so agonizing that she went to the emergency room in late December 2008. When they opened her up, she was filled with inoperable and untreatable cancer, and was made comfortable at the hospital until she died on January 7, 2009. - - If she had been covered by insurance, she would have checked in with a physician long before the pain became so unbearable, and long before the cancer was terminal.
