Kevin was diagnosed with a stage 3 brain tumor in Jan of 99~ We were very lucky to find out that we were pregnant in June and were anticipating the birth of our first child, Noble. Kevin was in bible college and we had no insurance~ sadly. We were very fortunate to get covered thru the state of Iowa and he received treatment at the University of Iowa Hospitals..... UNFORTUNATELY~ He only received 3 weeks of a 4 week chemo treatment. When he died and I had realized that they had not given him the full regimine, I was told that it, "probably not work anyway!" Kevin died in our bed, in our home in Dec of 1999 when I was 6 months pregnant. He never met his son, Noble, who was born the day after what would have been his 30th birthday. Some brain tumors are impossible to fight, I understand this. I also understand that he could have at least lived to meet his first and only child.
